Your character's magic index indicates how strong their magical abilities are. In order to get stronger, they must hone their magic through experience and practice, which don't come easy. Below are the magic indices, in descending order, along with the ability level of a caster at each level of each magic index, and the requirements needed to get your character to that magic index level.
Magic Index 5- Magically dormant. A caster at this level cannot consciously control his/her magic very well, but if they notice they have a magical ability, they can try.
In order to advance, use magic in 5 posts, in at least 3 separate threads.
Magic Index 4- Novice level caster. A caster of this level can only produce magic for a short time, and the effects are quite weak.
In order to advance, use magic 8 more times, in at least 4 separate threads.
Magic Index 3- Average level caster. Most magic users are at this level of casting. Magic can be commanded at will, though still requires concentration, and the effects can be quite damaging.
In order to advance, use magic 12 more times, in at least 5 separate threads. Additionally, one thread must be a designated 'Hunt' thread, and 2 of the posts must be made in combat with another player.
Magic Index 2- Adept Caster. A caster at this level does not require too much concentration to conjure magic. The effects of magic at this level can be devastating.
In order to advance, use magic 20 more times, in at least 10 different threads. Additionally, at least 2 must be designated 'Hunt' threads, and 5 of the posts must be made in combat with at least one other player.
Magic Index 1- Master of Magic and casting. A caster at this level no longer needs much concentration to cast their magic, and the effects of their spells can be frightening.
