Delilah finally woke up, blearily looking up from the soft sand she had washed up on. The sky was grey and angry, as it had been when the storm that blew her off course had struck. Her glowing purple fur was sodden and impregnated with salt and sand, which would take days to get out. Her blue butterfly wings were soaked through, though fortunately neither seemed to be broken. Exhausted, the small wolf pushed herself off the ground into a sitting position and assessed her surroundings, determining how far off she had been knocked off course. She wasn't quite sure, but in either direction she looked there was shore for as far as she could see, making it the biggest island she had landed on yet. Her exodus from the place of her birth may be complete, depending on how inhabitable this place was.
She took a moment to flare her wings, causing much of the salt water to burst off of them. She then shook herself, getting as much of the sand and water out of her fur as possible. A short jog and few flaps of her wings proved that there was certainly nothing to worry about as far as her wings were concerned, but once she had ascended higher she saw that this place was clearly no island, but something much, much larger. A vast green expanse lay before her, with no end in sight. The surprise she felt was quickly replaced with more exhaustion. Long flights were clearly out of the question until she got something to eat and some rest, along with a dry place to sleep. The female wolf swept back down towards the beach, landing neatly. As she patrolled the beach for easy prey, the sun started to come out, and she felt the lotus blossoms behind her ears unfold themselves, as happy to receive the sunlight as she was.
